Job Summary
This position will support the various operations of Sales Administrative Support Department. This position handles many financial aspects of our Retail and Third Party sales teams, including but not limited to customer invoices, expense management along with various other reporting functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable/Collections - coordinating initial notifications, past due notifications and final demand notifications to wholesale brokers, correspondent lenders and sales staff via e-mail, phone and mail. Create invoices and distribute out to brokers and correspondents for past due funds. Create monthly account executive collection report for Human Resources.
  • Accounting - creating invoices daily and weekly that are received from various departments and processing of invoices. Analyze and create various reports for invoices and report collection activities and distribute to internal staff and management on a weekly and monthly basis. Log, deposit checks, and process funds that were deducted from individual loans and generate the corresponding accounting entries from Peoplesoft Accounts Receivable to resolve issues. Process monthly Goldstar Bonus payments, review invoices, and submit to appropriate management for approvalultimately submit the fully approved payments and invoices to Accounts Payable for National Sales for final processing.
  • Customer Service/Problem Resolution/Payments - coordinate, address and resolve issues pertaining to receivables and payables for Accounts Receivable, Financial Support and National Sales. Coordinate problem resolution with sales staff, senior management, various internal departments and external customers. Coordination of timely payments of invoices received.
  • Sales Support/Reporting - Generate, format, analyze and distribute various reports for Wholesale Lending Accounts Receivable, Financial Support and National Sales departments to senior management, internal staff and wholesale brokers and correspondents.
  • Special Projects as assigned by management.
  • Staff member is expected to consistently adhere to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to their job as listed. Staff member will not repeatedly act in a manner signifying intentional or willful noncompliance, nor exhibit gross negligence or a general disregard for compliance and regulatory standards. Staff member must ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Staff member must complete all required compliance training on a timely basis. Staff member will maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Staff member must take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.

    Job Requirements:
    • HS Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent - some college preferred with studies concentrated in accounting/business
    • 1-3 years in accounting support
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong listening skills.
    • Must have good telephone technique with well-developed customer service skills.
    • Analytical and problem solving skills and an ability to think quickly under pressure.
    • Strong accounting knowledge and time management skills.
    • Mortgage experience preferred.
    • Understanding of MS Office Suite with intermediate technical and computer skills; ability to navigate quickly within various computer programs.
