TITLE: Lead Lean Engineer

DUTIES: BorgWarner Technologies Services, LLC seeks a Lead Lean Engineer in Troy, Michigan. Note, this position requires domestic travel, as needed, up to 10%.

Job Duties: lead and design lean manufacturing processes and strategies for improving the operation efficiency; lead and manage numerous complex projects, providing expert guidance to production supervisors, engineering groups, and other project leaders, and presenting progress, finance, cost-saving, and risk assessment reports to NALT (North America Leadership Team); serve as a core member of multiple cross-functional teams responsible for improving customer PPAP submission process, creating PFMEA, process flow, control plan, setup/work instructions, and FLM documents for NPI/NPD assembly lines; create and develop enterprise-level value stream mapping, business case (BC), and capital appropriation requests (CAR) for owned projects and new product lines; lead kaizen team events to redesign assembly line layouts, material cost improvements, material flow routes and business process improvements; provide key assistance in machine qualification activities correlation, process capability(CP/CPK), and gauge R&R; define, develop and publish business improvement process documentation to reflect best practice; work with large amounts of data and communicating data findings; establish and track program metrics including return on investment; demonstrate strong communication skills in employee training (5S, BPI, RPS), and travel to meet with machine suppliers for SATS/FATS.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and two years of experience in the job offered or related. Experience must include: CAD/CAM software; TPS (Toyota production system) overview; 1 year of experience in design and/or manufacturing of Electronics or Electro-mechanical devices; 1 year of experience with hands-on manufacturing; experience with electrical/electro-mechanical components; experience with engine subsystems and electro mechanical devices. Domestic travel required, as needed, up to 10%.
