Company Overview Nippon Seiki is a world-class manufacturer of instruments for vehicles, agricultural, and construction equipment. Established in 1945, Nippon Seiki Co., Ltd. is headquartered in Japan, with numerous facilities worldwide. N.S. International, Ltd. ("NSI"), a group company of Nippon Seiki, located in Troy, MI, is a tier one supplier of instrument clusters and head-up display units for FCA US, General Motors, BMW, Honda, Harley Davidson, Suzuki, Polaris, Arctic Cat and other OEM's.Purpose of Job The Facilities Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing building operations and services. In addition to managing office space allocations, this role is responsible for purchasing various building supplies/equipment and managing various suppliers and vendors. The Facilities Manager will maintain the overall appearance of the facility (inside/outside/groundskeeping), managing key facility projects and maintenance requirements. Furthermore, they will monitor and manage safety programs and objectives, in addition to complying with applicable state/federal regulations while creating a culture of safety within the organization.Major Duties/Responsibilities Top duties or activities in a given year. Not all tasks/steps performed are listed. ---Manage employee physical safety along with building security and related systems (badge system). ---Manages building space allocation, layout, and office moves/relocations. ---Performs environmental hazard assessment management, planning, and remediation to ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA/MIOSHA, DOT regulations, NFPA guidelines, building codes and applicable permits. ---Monitors/manages utility energy utilization and related building systems to continuously improve site energy consumption. ---Manages the building maintenance/repairs (and associated work order system), upgrades, and office space renovations which include electrical, plumbing, security, janitoral, parking, furniture, signage for the facility and applicable vendor performance. ---Ensure timely site walkthroughs/inspections (roofing/elevator/etc.) are conducted and effective corrective actions implemented. ---Manages Contractor Safety Program and rresponsible for Facilities-related internal/external audits. ---Establishes/Administers policies (in coordination with Human Resources) for such items as evacuation plans, employee safety, company events, and other various activities. ---Establish/Manage departmental KPIs, safety-related logs/systems, and ---Develop/Execute applicable training related to environmental and employee health and safety. ---Prepare and manage facility/site equipment obsolescence and/or replacement planning, annual department project and operating budgets (including site general office supplies), and ---Manage annual building/vehicle insurance reviews, in addition to managing the fleet of vehicles (reservation, maintenance, etc.). ---Oversee Shipping/Receiving activities for all of NSI ---Responsible for emergency calls afterhours (alarms, fire, security employee/vehicle issues, etc) Team Management/Leading Others: ---Provide supervision, guidance, coaching, leadership, and training to members within team. ---Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team. ---Train team members on policies and procedures and create/maintain a set of current forms and approval procedures. ---Establish goals for team and conduct reviews. ---Participate in recruitment activities and hiring of qualified department resources. Education, Experience and Knowledge Required and/or preferred level of education, knowledge and skills that are necessary.Education ---Bachelor's Degree in related field; Construction/Facilities Management preferred. Related Experience ---10+ years of experience in construction or facilities management; 5-7 years of project/vendor management experience. ---Strong interpretive knowledge of building permits/codes, NFPA and MIOSHA/OSHA regulations in addition to interpreting / analyzing contracts, blueprints, and other documents with varying levels of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form with variables. ---Working knowledge of business insurance needs and fleet vehicle management experience. ---Comprehensive knowledge of the following: ---Equipment and facility maintenance programs and procedures ---Site evaluations ---Safety principles and practices ---Project Management and Budgeting ---Experience demostrating effective leadership, directly or in-directly, for multi-disciplinary teams. ---Work requires leadership skills and the ability to develop and enhance a department (i.e. processes, procedures, and personnel). Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to prioritize and organize the management of multiple projects and meet deadlines to achieve desired results and stay within budget. Must be a self-starter, self-motivator, and a team player. ---CFM preferred. ---Technical Leadership: Includes being the subject matter expert in this field. Finding ways to help the team or group perform effectively. Additional Information Work HoursMonday-Friday, 8 am - 5pm. Off-hours as needed and Emergency contact for the facility.Travel Requirements5% international and/or domestic.
