Roush Defense is searching for a talented -Project Manager to join its growing team! As Project Manager, you will facilitate accurate and timely project reporting, scope, and cost control. In this role, you will provide project management support across the Roush Defense portfolio, including schedule and cost management, customer liaisons, bid preparation, and contract execution. You will also support the execution of key contracts and sub-contracts aligned to Roush defense and government programs. As Project Manager, you will work closely with customers, suppliers, internal specialists, and the leadership team. This position is located in Troy, MI. -

  As -Project Manager, you will:
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Develop project schedules and resource plans, then monitor and report on project cost and schedule performance
    
    
  • 
    Synthesize and communicate project status reports internally and for customers
    
    
  • 
    Develop and maintain project risk and issue reporting
    
    
  • 
    Develop and maintain project management and contract tracking tools and dashboard reporting
    
    
  • 
    Perform analysis of RFPs and contracts to synthesize and communicate key scope elements, informing pricing, proposal development, and sub-contracting activity
    
    
  • 
    Work with the purchasing organization to initiate, implement, and track key sub-contracts
    
    
  • 
    Develop project bids and proposals
    
    
  • 
    Work with the leadership team to develop strategies and drive continuous improvement initiatives
    
    
    Minimum qualifications required:
    
    • 
      
    • 
      Bachelor's degree
      
      
    • 
      Minimum of 2 years of work experience in project management or engineering
      
      
    • 
      Must be a US citizen
      
      
    • 
      Must have ability to obtain and maintain at a minimum Department of Defense "Secret" Level Security Clearance
      
      
    • 
      Knowledge of project management methodologies
      
      
    • 
      Ability to perceive and diagnose problems
      
      
    • 
      Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      
      
    • 
      Ability to work independently
      
      
    • 
      Ability to drive progress through decisive action
      
      
      A successful candidate may also have:
      
      • 
        
      • 
        Bachelor's degree in engineering
        
        
      • 
        Master's degree in business
        
        
      • 
        Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent certification
        
        
      • 
        Experience developing bids and proposals
        
        
      • 
        Experience working with the US Department of Defense
        
        
      • 
        Knowledge of defense contracting
        
        
      • 
        Ability to develop project control tools using spreadsheet or database software
