The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader. This role adheres to established policies and procedures. Essential functions include applying the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge needs of the patient and family. The nurse must apply the concepts of patient- and family-centered care in practice. Recognizing the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes is crucial. The Clinical Nurse partners with patients and families to utilize their goals in planning care. Quality care must meet or exceed expectations for core measures and patient experience. Providing assistance with consideration of special needs and cultural requirements is necessary. The role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and utilizing resources effectively. Delegation of appropriate tasks is a key responsibility. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge of technical procedures and equipment. Timely, accurate documentation in patient records is essential.
