The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and will work closely with the Director of Human Resources. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, onboarding, policy implementation, benefits, employee relations, and employment law compliance.
Performance Responsibilities:Assist in the day-to-day operations of the HR DepartmentProvide operations support on issues such as talent and performance management and employment lawAssist with the recruiting and on boarding processMaintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner.Monitors tardiness and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees with excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems.Acts as an employee relations specialistAssist/lead the development of HR processes, policies, and systemsLiaise with employees, supervisors, managers, and co-workers in problem resolutionMaintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulationsEnsures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; Periodically audits Forms I-9Distribute and monitors employee performance evaluations and provide they are done in a timely mannerReports, maintains, and monitors all workers compensation case file; follows up on open casesMonitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employee and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes.Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process. Maintains and distributes a list of new and canceled employees under each benefit plan.Administers COBRA for group health plans.Perform other duties as assigned
JOB Requirements:Bachelor s degree in Human Resources or related field.1-2 years of HR experienceStrong interpersonal, communication, follow-up, problem-solving and creative thinking skillsExcellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task with attention to detailProficient with MS Word & ExcelSelf-motivated, team player with excellent people skills.High level of discretion with confidential material
Job Type: Full-timePay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per yearMonday to Friday
