Video Production Intern

Job Summary:

Altair Engineering is seeking an engineering video production intern to plan and produce help videos for HyperMesh, our flagship simulation product. We are looking for someone smart, energetic, and self-motivated who can collaborate effectively in a remote working environment. Critical skills for this position include solid technical writing, planning, and video editing capabilities, with an emphasis on following best practices for video production. As part of our Documentation Center for Excellence, you will contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of our video production and usage standards. You will also have the opportunity to attend meetings and learn about our capability centers for writing standards, publishing, information architecture, localization, in-application text, data analytics, and user experience research.

What You Will Do:

• Work with subject matter experts to plan video content
• Edit rough drafts provided by program managers and produce final videos using Camtasia
• Assist the video capability center in creating training for how to produce help videos
• Attend meetings and communicate progress using Teams, Outlook, JIRA, and Confluence
• Learn about Altair's Technical Documentation Center of Excellence and capability centers

  • Working towards a bachelor's degree in engineering, technical communications, or a related field
  • Excellent technical writing and video editing skills, with an eye for detail
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines
  • A natural affinity for organization and the ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Desire to learn new software and technical skills
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and communicate with non-native English speakers
  • Initiative-taking and dedicated to accomplishing objectives
  • Domain expertise in mechanical engineering is highly desirable
