Job Description:

Summary/Objective
You will be assigned to design Automotive Lighting Products, office located in Troy, MI.
The ideal candidate for this position should be a team player, being able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment, being highly responsible for work, able to handle stress, emergency work and heavy work load

Essential Duties

• Get working direction from Lead Design Engineer, design Automotive Lighting components and assembly
  
• Create, update and modify parametric 3D model, optimize Datum schematics into 3D design
  
• Assist Lead Design Engineer to do Layout study, packaging Study and feasibility study
  
• Make Study Report/ presentation for team review
  
• Assist Lead Design Engineer to apply Designer Check List into design work
  
• Apply company's design standards and Best Practice into design
  
• Attend internal design and technical review meetings
  
• Create GD&T Prints to meet both engineering requirements and Gauge/Fixture requirements
  
• Organize different revision components and assemblies math data on a daily base
  
• Coordinate with Data Administrator to clearly organize different version "In and Out" Math Data, - such as Customer Team Center Release, FTP data transfer, Prototype Kick Off, Tooling Kick Off, Gauge/Fixture Kick Off etc., maintain a clear Data Transfer history for Project
  
• Participate early morning or nightly tele conference with China team to review Project Design & Engineering issues if required
  
• Provide GM Team Center training to H.A. Engineering Team if required.
  
• Performs other related duties as assigned
  
  Minimum Qualifications
  
  
  
• 0-2 years' experience in Plastic Parts Design, well knowing design standards and best practice
  
• Understanding "Design for manufacturing" & "Design for 6 Sigma" is a must
  
• Must be a team player being able to interface within internal and external team in a Professional way
  
• Self-driven and high Responsibility on work is a required
  
• Strong Coordinating Skills is required, able to work with global cross-discipline team members and customer in an efficient way, able to work with various technical levels of individuals
  
• Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks & projects at the same time is required
  
• Attention to details and the ability to meet internal and external timing is required
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required
  
• Strong PC aptitude including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required
  
• Able to attend international conference Meetings in evening or early morning is required
  
• Able to travel internationally for major design reviews in China is required
  
• Able to work overtime is required
  
• Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  
• Able to work in a fast paced environment

  Preferred Qualifications
  
  
  
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  
• CATIA V5 or NX hands on experience is preferred
  
• Design experience in Automotive lighting Industry is preferred
  
• Experience in: Plastics, Injection Molding, Decorating, LED's, Xenon, Halogen Bulbs, Electronics is preferred
  
• Knowledge of GD&T, Tooling and Gauge/Fixture requirements is a plus
  
• Able to speak Chinese Language (Mandarin) is a plus, but not required
