This permanent opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk is in the Troy, Michigan area. Entering, posting and reconciling batches, researching and resolving customer A/R issues, preparing aging reports, placing billing and collection calls, maintaining cash receipts journal, and updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L will be essential for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate with clients to settle payment issues and help create a payment plan
- Manage monthly closings and annual reports, including handling payments and compiling segments in compliance with GAAP
- Follow standard procedures to execute general accounting tasks
- Confirm documents and codes are correct
- Post and balance financial information in a number of ledgers while reconciling bank accounts
- Support, relate, and strengthen the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Supply shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stake holders with information as requested Requirements - AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field
- Relevant experience in accounts receivable
- General familiarity with Credit Memo
- Adeptness in bank reconciliations
- Deep understanding of credit analysis
- Accrediting Agencies experience required
- Solid understanding of Approve Credit
- Demonstrated knowledge of cash posting
- Commercial collections experience preferred
- Practical knowledge of Credit Memo
- Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
- Current and relevant ERP system experience
