Job Flexibility ---- - -Hybrid Position: The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work-based business needs. - Overview -The Steel Buyer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing steel products for the company. This role requires a deep understanding of the steel market, including pricing trends, production capacities, and new technologies. The Steel Buyer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the company's steel requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Steel Buyer will also be responsible for all tactical aspects of purchasing including material cost reductions, securing timely delivery, quality products and supplier negotiations. Job Responsibilities ----Develop and maintain a strong network of steel suppliers to ensure the company has access to high-quality steel products at competitive prices.---Conduct market research to keep abreast of changes in the global steel market and make recommendations to the Global Steel Commodity Manager.---Negotiate favorable pricing and terms with suppliers, ensuring the company receives the best value for its steel purchases.---Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance, to ensure the timely delivery of steel products.---Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of suppliers, making recommendations for improvements when necessary.---Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, negotiating and managing supplier contracts, and ensuring the company receives the best value for its steel purchases.---Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures, including contract management and supplier performance evaluations.---Manage the ordering process, including preparing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and reconciling invoices in Oracle ERP System.
