result in revolutionary work. What Youll Do VML is seeking a Group
Director, Content Strategy to lead a multi-million-dollar digital
experience team for a B2C client. In this role, youll lead a team
to develop data-driven, user-friendly content strategies that
connect with target audiences in meaningful ways. You will tackle
advising on and bring personalization initiatives to life to both
retain and conquest customers. Additionally, the Group Director
will be responsible for leading the digital experience through a
migration into a new design system. You must be a forward-thinking
team player, who is well-versed in digital content, AI automation,
personalization, and of course, storytelling. This is an
executive-facing role on a fast-moving project. Key
Responsibilities Content Strategy Develop CX-focused strategy that
aligns with audience journeys and critical business objectives.
Lead content audits to identify gaps and opportunities for
optimization, ensuring strategic consistency across digital
touchpoints. Approve and give feedback on key client deliverables
while mentoring team members to solve complex challenges
independently. Stay current with industry trends, including
automation and AI advancements, to drive innovative client
solutions. Client Leadership Own strategic deliverables and client
relationships, ensuring alignment with business goals while
bringing forward-thinking ideas and strategic POVs to the table to
challenge and push the work beyond their expectations. Lead
planning workshops and proactively identify growth opportunities
for the team and account. Facilitate client workshops to define
content priorities, KPIs, and strategic roadmaps. Serve as a
trusted thought leader and point of contact for senior client
stakeholders. Department Leadership Supervise and mentor up to five
direct reports, and up to 7 additional junior team members on the
account, guiding their career development and professional growth.
Practice emotional maturity and empathy as a trusted confidant for
our team members. Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings, offering
feedback and strategic guidance to enhance team performance.
Advocate for team promotions and merit increases while fostering a
positive and inclusive team culture. Lead project staffing and
resource planning, ensuring optimal team allocation and strategic
utilization. Share strategic POVs with the greater North American
content strategy team to help mature and grow our practice inward
and use industry expertise to help develop team capabilities to
grow the practice and offerings outward. Spearhead department
initiatives as to recruit, nurture and retain talent, e.g. training
programs, onboarding docs, pipelines, etc. Business Development
Lead new business pitches and strategic RFP/RFI responses as a
content strategy expert. Shape pitch narratives with data-driven
insights, positioning VML as an industry leader in CX innovation.
Research client industries and emerging trends to inform strategic
recommendations and creative solutions. Develop case studies and
thought leadership, enhancing VMLs reputation in the digital
content space. Educates internal VML partners about the content
strategy practices offerings and capabilities. What Youll Need
Qualifications and Skills Experience: 10 years of experience in
digital content strategy, CX strategy, content design or related
fields. Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, mentor talent and
inspire a culture of creativity and strategic thinking. Strategic
vision: Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate
business objectives into actionable content strategies and plans.
Client engagement: Excellent client management skills, with a track
record of building and sustaining strategic client relationships.
Industry expertise: Deep understanding of digital content trends,
user experience best practices, SEO trends, and emerging
technologies, including automation and AI. Communication Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the
ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
Innovation and Curiosity: A proactive approach to exploring new
industry trends and technologies to drive content innovation. The
base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is
indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on
job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of
responsibility, experience, and qualifications. We offer a
competitive benefits package $100,000-$230,000 USD We believe the

approach, with teams in the office an average of four days a week.
