transitioning or former military professionals for a Sr. Supply
Chain Buyer and Planner Position Details: Location: Troy, MI
Compensation: Starting base salary of $130K-$140K, depending on
experience + sign on bonus + 401K match + 12% Bonus = First year
expected W2 $150K+ Position Description: You will be responsible
for assuring the continuous supply of assigned components to
support customer service goals, minimize the total landed cost of
material and optimize company's cash flow. This position reports
directly to the Site Supply Chain Manager or Value Stream Manager.
This person would be responsible for contracting the right
supplier, securing timely delivery of quality products against
competitive pricing and maintaining data integrity used in

-- - -Ensuring all active purchase items have an approved source
Identify, manage and implement re-sourcing activities (from
negotiations to product approval to purchase orders).
-- - -Ensuring system accuracy to enable proper material
-- - -Advising the company on global raw material and currency
-- - -Ongoing information gathering to create competitive advantage
for the company.
-- - -Planning for smooth transitions from existing to new
-- - -Developing (new potential) suppliers.
-- - -Create and implement sourcing strategies.
-- - -Support the creation and implementation of global sourcing
-- - -Support of cross-functional teams.
-- - -Achieve cost reduction targets.
-- - -Set up and lead supplier meetings.
-- - -International cross-cultural negotiations.
-- - -Improve working capital impact (payment term increases,
pay-on-consumption / consignment stock).
-- - -Improving customer satisfaction by developing a dedicated
supply base. Requirements: The best candidates will be outstanding
current or former military supply/logistics officers with a
developed understanding of operational processes who can perform
exceptionally well in a key individual contributor role that is the
linchpin of their supply chain and materials buying business.
Detailed manufacturing experience is not required but a foundation
in basic understanding of process is essential. Candidates must
have outstanding supply chain & logistics experience using good
systems and best practices with a solid process improvement mindset
& understanding working within ERP or similar types of
environments. A bachelor's degree with similar experience in the
military or within manufacturing or a relatable industry, is
-- - -5-7 years of experience in Purchasing office or manufacturing
-- - -Strong oral and written English language skills are mandatory

-- - -Buying experience in steel or metal products
-- - -Working with Quality processes (ISO, TS, SOX)
-- - -Recognized negotiation training certificate would be an
-- - -In-depth knowledge of quality audit procedures including
PPAP, pre-awards, and technical reviews would be an asset.
-- - -Knowledge of raw material indexes and pricing -- - -Knowledge
of ORACLE - MRP - ERP systems would be an asset. Education
