Job Flexibility-- ------- --Hybrid Position: The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work-based business needs.-- Overview-- Position is part of a team that has responsibility for management and control of $145 Million of global freight spend throughout the Meritor global logistics network. This position is responsible for meeting goals in the areas of delivery performance, customer satisfaction, and freight spend for all products distributed throughout the organization. This position is responsible for being part of the team which designs the long-term vision of distribution and logistics at Meritor. Additionally, this person is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the Meritor Transportation System (TMS). As a member of the global transportation team, the individual interacts with all levels of the organization. A thorough knowledge of logistics activities is essential for position success. Job Responsibilities: ------- --Daily planning and execution of Meritor North American freight movements ------- --Set up, execution and tracking of premium freight moves ------- --Expansion and improved usage of TMS and capabilities of system ------- --Communication with Meritor locations as well as customers to advise of shipment status and any problems with shipments ------- --Resolution of customer issues, both internal and external ------- --Interaction with technical support team on systems issues ------- --Analysis and evaluation of loads planned through system, to identify cost savings and process improvements ------- --Updating of rate, customer, vendor and carrier information in the TMS ------- --Identification and implementation of cost savings opportunities as well as identification and resolution of problems ------- --Carrier problem resolution --
