Apply Job Type Full-time Description Department: Personal Insurance FLSA Status: Exempt Work Schedule: Full Time M-F, 8:30am-5pm Amount of Travel Required: 15-30% POSITION SUMMARY To develop new business opportunities within the personal lines industry with existing and prospective clients, and to service accounts in a manner that assures successful long-term relationships resulting in loyal clients. Represent our agency in a manner consistent with our Core Values and make Kapnick Insurance Group the best in our business. Essential Functions * Prepare and present proposals and capabilities presentations to clients, prospects, and existing Commercial and Benefits clients * Deliver accurate and timely premium quotations to clients and/or prospects * Provide clear and concise communication to clients and/or prospects via telephone, in person or in writing * Document meetings and conversations with clients and/or prospects in our agency management system * Maintain working knowledge of rating systems, new and existing insurance lines along with system and industry enhancements to service clients and/or prospects * Build and maintain a professional relationship with carrier underwriters * Review book of business with goal of expanding personal lines sales and identifying account rounding opportunities * Provide content for newsletter, blog and website to our corporate communications department * Attend events and fairs hosted by our existing Commercial and Benefit clients * Attend and participate in department meetings and training sessions as required * Monitor and manage voicemail, email, & our agency management system per agency service standards & procedures * Perform your job in such a manner that other employees will consider it a pleasure and privilege to work with you * Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of the job * Perform other duties and projects as assigned Requirements POSITION QUALIFICATIONS * Communication - Ability to communicate effectively with others, using the spoken and written word. * Confidentiality - Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with Kapnick privacy guidelines including but not limited to HIPAA/HITECH as it relates to all divisions of Kapnick Insurance. * Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures. * Negotiation Skills - Ability to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties. * Organized - Possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task. * Presentation Skills - Ability to effectively present information publicly. * Problem Solving - Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems. * Professionalism - Represent Kapnick professionally both internally and externally at all times. * Relationship Building - Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers. * Reliability - The trait of being dependable and trustworthy. * Sales Ability - Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to gain acceptance of a product, service, or idea. * Self Motivated - Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one's ability using his or her own drive or initiative. * Teamwork - Ability to be part of a team and work cohesively to achieve goals. * Time Management - Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines. * Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: High School Graduate Required Experience: 1 plus years of experience in the Insurance industry Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Certifications & Licenses: Property & Casualty License, required Other Requirements: Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between offices as well as to client's place of business. Attend & complete programs of self development that are deemed beneficial in the growth of this position.
